The text of this version written in Braj Bhasa, a language which was spoken in Northwest India and is still today the mother tongue of about 15 million Indians.
Pages 1-87, the text 'Avatara-carinthr', which describes the different reincarnations of the god Vishnu. Pages 97 to 373, the text 'Shri Ramcandra-carinthr manas', which describes the life of Rama and Sita, pages 374 to 510 comprise the tenth book 'Bhagavata Purana' which is the holiest book for worshippers of Vishnu. The life and miracles of Krishna, the most important reincarnation of Vishnu, are recorded in this volume.
Sheets 60 cm. long, painted and calligraphed on both sides, pierced and folded over, the inner and outer folds guarded with decorative paper strips and tied into indigenous folding cloth binding.
