Six Donatus fragments have been recorded using this type, formerly considered a Prototypography type. They are now thought to be from some anonymous Netherlandish shop of the late 1470s or early 1480s. Fragments in Düsseldorf of another Donatus edition using this type are printed on one side only, and must have been printing shop waste. They were discovered in the binding of a Brussels incunable of ca. 1482-1484 whose original owner was a priest belonging to the Hieronymite convent in Haarlem. This gives a hint, though not a strong proof, that the Printer of Donatus was in Haarlem. 561 Provenance: acquired March 1934. |5NjP 583 |xmlc 650 0 Latin language |xGrammar |vEarly works to 1500. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh86003452 650 0 Type and type-founding |vSpecimens. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh00001054 710 2 Joseph Baer (Firm), |ebookseller. |5NjP |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n83227369 773 0 |tMulti-title collection including Ars minor and 1 other(s). |w99125086163506421 856 41 |uhttp://arks.princeton.edu/ark:/88435/sb397833m 902 mrf |bo |6a |7m |dv |f1 |e20051103
