Notes
27 boxes of slides, 1 box of negatives, 3 boxes of ring-bound 3x5 card sets, and 1 box of empty original slide housings.
Access is provided by a listing of contents and an index of 3 ring-bound card sets. The slides are 3.5 x 4 inches (10 x 8.5 cm).
Called the 'Wheeler Slide Collection,' probably because these slides were made by the New York firm DeWitt C. Wheeler.
Boxes 22 and 23 have slides with the imprint of Edward Van Altena.
Box 29 has negatives with the following imprints: 'Baker's Art Gallery, Columbus, O.' ; 'Doris Ulmann' ; 'Falk 949 Broadway N.Y.' ; 'Frances Waite' [wife of Norman Bel Geddes] ; 'James & Bushnell, Seattle' ; 'Maurice Goldberg' ; 'Pincho NY' ; 'Sarony 256 Fifth Avenue New York' ; 'Soichi Sunami' ; 'Underwood & Underwood' ; 'Vandamm' ; 'White'.
Box 23 has 8 text slides of lyrics from a Civil War song, and Box 24 has 1.
