  • Marginal notes. Running header in red and blue. Manicle (fol. 390r).
  • Collation: Parchment ; fol. i (paper) + 408 + i (paper).
  • Layout: 60 lines per page in two columns ; ruled.
  • Decoration: Large historiated initial depicting the seven days of Creation (fol. 6r). Several 7- to 11-line initials in blue and red with scrollwork fill ; alternating red and blue 1-line initials throughout text. Tables and diagrams.
  • Origin: Written in France in the last quarter of the 13th century.
Binding note
Later binding. Brown calf (ca. 1700); gold-stamped with the arms of Charles Spencer, 3rd Duke of Marlborough (1706-1758). Gilt stamped design on spine.
