    Summary note
    Wooden tablet, of a kind found in Qurʼanic schools in many parts of the world. The date is unknown.
    Notes
    • Description: Three sanded boards, 10 mm thick (70, 61, 28 mm width) bound together with metal straps at top and bottom. Center board is pierced at top with two holes 5 mm. across. Through one hole is looped a braided nylon cord secured with two knots. Center board has a 2.5 mm. hole at the bottom which is filled with white wash.
    • Text: One side has Sūrah al-Takāthir verses 5-8 (Sūrah 102:5-8) and in the lower right hand corner is a calligraphic motif (based on the basmala?). The other side has the basmala followed by the letters of the Arabic alphabet. Later notations in pencil are visible.
