  • Illuminated ms. in elegant naskh script on glazed paper. 15.6 x 11.4 cm. Sūrah headings in white on gold bands; text bordered in ruled gold leaf frame ca. 1 cm. wide. Catchwords. First two pages heavily decorated with intricate geometric and floral design. Gold leaf bands on gutter edge; text areas bordered by interwoven bands in gold. This set in larger frame dominated by blue and gold background with numerous blue and pink flowers. Other pages have floral medallions. Pages are gilt at head and foot. Verses terminate with gilt circles.
  • Binding of dark red leather wallet style. Covers and envelope flap dominated by incised central mandorla designs with tulip-like incised design at top and bottom. Designs have gilt bakground and vine motif. Endpapers are green, clay-coated. Chevron endbands intact. Design similar to Third Series no. 193.
  • Scribe is identified in colophon as: Aḥmad al-Najīb.
