Summary note

In April 1990, the SEC transferred a copy of the Ownership Reporting System (ORS) dataset with a new format. This is a cumulative file and will be updated on a regular basis. The only documentation received to date for the newly formatted ORS file is a two-page layout. Codes for three fields or variables, Nature of ownership, Type of transaction, and Reporting entity's relationship are included on the second page of the layout. Copies of forms 3 and 4 are also included.
