Nikolaos at that point was a fighter of the corps of Captain Vangelis Holevas, in the areas of Pieria (Greece) against the Turco-Albanians with the aim of integrating these areas into Greece. At the same time, bloody rallies were held in Athens. The Turco-Albanians destroyed Litochoro in Pieria in retaliation.
