The existence of Himalayan medicinal plants, which are thought to be the richest source of active biomolecules, is alarmingly threatened by the rising demand for herbal medicines on the global market. Most of these are threatened due to overexploitation, while some have gone extinct. This new volume covers a range of topics related to plant tissue culture for the preservation and conservation of Himalayan endangered plants important for medicinal purposes as well as for maintaining the rich biodiversity of the region.
