Summary note

Half-length portrait of Schurman turned to right, hand resting on a printed book, gazing out toward viewer. Engraved by Suÿderhoef after the 1649 painting by Lievens, possibly created before the 1657 grisaille portrait of Schurman by Cornelis Jonson van Ceulen. Third state showing reworked face and neck.
