Colectiva Pirómanas is a Chilean two-person collective formed in 2022 by visual artists Milena Moena Moreno and Carla Motto (Santiago, 1982). Their first project QUEMAR EL MIEDO (Burning fear), was a convoking action performed throughout different communities and venues (in Chile and Mexico), transforming the spaces for a rite that, from pain, rage and impotence, invites the public to light a candle and with fire, as a vindication of silence, those fears rooted in every Latin America woman burn: in their territory, in their histories and in their bodies. "I know the sustained project that Moena - Motto had had in recent years, an artistic work that was born from collective activities around contemporary feminisms. Art actions where the biographical is communal, exposing common feelings." --translated from page [10].
