Summary note
Editor, Florentinus Diel, explains in his foreword: the three parts of this work treat the Story of the Passion historically, describe the course of Christ's sufferings, and explain them in a mystical interpretation ... A separate concluding chapter is called "Sensus Mysticus." This seems to be the first edition of the work which is preserved. The colophon, (not found in this edition) however, mentions a Reutlingen, 1489, edition, which the editor calls "negligently made, based on an untrustworthy copy ... and published under a wrong title. No trace of this edition has apparently ever been found; it is not listed in the Gesamtkatalog or any other bibliography of Incunabulae. See the following: Brunet I, 946; Proctor 9884; BMC of German Books, p. 125; Benzing, Buchdruckerlexicon, p. 297
