Summary note
"Tanya Lukin Linklater’s practice stretches across a range of media, including choreographed dance performances, video, sculptural installation and text. Born in the Kodiak archipelago of Alaska, Lukin Linklater has lived and worked in Nbisiing Anishinabek territory in northern Ontario for more than a decade. My mind is with the weather, her first solo exhibition at a public institution, is anchored in three of Lukin Linklater’s recent film works and a sculptural installation developed with the artist and architect Tiffany Shaw. The exhibition was presented by Oakville Galleries, Oakville; the Contemporary Art Gallery, Vancouver, and the Southern Alberta Art Gallery Maansiksikaitsitapiitsinikssin, Lethbridge, with each institution offering a different configuration of works. This catalogue of the exhibition contains texts written by Tanya Lukin Linklater, Beth Piatote, Eungie Joo, Frances Loeffler, and the transcript of a conversation between Tanya Lukin Linklater and Layli Long Soldier."-- Provided by publisher.
