Summary note
A file of correspondence and reports concerning visits to Britain by leading West Berlin officials. The documents cover a visit by Hermann Oxfort, a deputy mayor of Berlin and the senator for justice -- a visit by Dietrich Spangenberg, the federal plenipotentiary of Berlin -- a visit by Wolfgang Lüder, the chairman of the Free Democratic Party -- a visit by Heinrich Lummer, the chair of the Berlin Christian Democratic Union parliamentary party -- and a visit by Dietrich Stobbe, a West Berlin senator. Other documents in the file include programmes for the visits, which included trips to the British Council, the House of Commons, the British Airways Training Centre, and Wales. Discussions with British officials covered the quadripartite agreement -- a recent Soviet statement on Berlin -- and the provision of air services to Berlin, including fares and the standard of service.
