Summary note
A file containing documents concerning Bulgarian commercial relations with Yugoslavia. Documents in the file include a report from the British Embassy in Belgrade that the two countries had agreed a two-year programme of scientific cooperation -- and a further letter from the embassy reporting the signing of a protocol for trade between the two countries for 1967. This protocol had been signed under the framework of a long-term trade agreement, and would see Yugoslav imports of vehicles, agricultural machinery, electrical equipment, and textiles. Bulgaria would be importing agricultural equipment, baking machinery, and various electrical and transport equipment. The two countries would also exchange metals, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agricultural produce, and consumer goods. The report notes that there had been a diminution of Yugoslav exports to Bulgaria, possibly due to the Yugoslav desire to "run down their balances with Eastern European countries."
