Summary note
A file of correspondence and reports concerning Czechoslovak-Yugoslav relations. The documents cover the visit of the Yugoslav president, Josip Tito, to Czechoslovakia, where he attended receptions, visited places of interest, and held talks with officials. Speeches during the visit and a joint communiqué released at its conclusion covered political and economic relations between the two countries -- West German militarism and revanchism -- U.S. activity in Vietnam, the Dominican Republic, and the Congo -- and criticism of the Chinese interpretation of peaceful coexistence. Further topics covered in the speech included the struggle against colonialism -- nuclear weapons and proliferation -- justice for the victims of Nazi terror -- the recognition of both German states -- and a resolution to the status of West Berlin.
