Summary note
A file of correspondence concerning an incident involving Albania at the United Nations. The correspondence covers the mistranscription of a statement made by the Albanian representative to the U.N. during a debate on the "Inadmissibility of Intervention in the Domestic Affairs of States", with his attack on "a Great Power", which was surmised to refer to the Soviets, written down as if it had been directed against the United States. The Albanian representatives claimed that the change in the text was deliberate, while the Secretary-General of the U.N. claimed that it was down to human error and not the result of any "ill-intentioned motive".
