Summary note
A file containing a report from the British Military Attaché in Sofia about an encounter that he had had with a group of Bulgarian labour troops. The report of the conversation states that the labour troops were recruited from groups thought to be "unreliable" and therefore unfit for regular service -- that they received no pay, but were fed and clothed -- and that they had been proud of their service. They had expressed an interest in the pay and conditions of British soldiers, but had not expressed any envy of the British and American soldiers whom they had met.
