Summary note
A file containing documents relating to the crash of El Al flight 402. Documents in the file include a copy of a message from the Bulgarian government to the Canadian government about the settlement of the Canadian claim -- correspondence relating to an Israeli plan to try to have the Egyptian Vice President of the International Court of Justice (I.C.J.) barred from the case -- and a note of a meeting between American and Israeli legal advisers, attended by a British diplomat, including summaries of the latest position of countries with claims against Bulgaria, and of the Israeli and American legal cases. Other documents in the file include discussion of inaccuracies in the official Israeli report into the accident -- discussion of the legal strategy for the cases at the I.C.J. -- and correspondence with the British victims' next of kin and their legal representatives about their nationality.
