Summary note
A file containing documents relating to preparations for an East-West summit meeting. Documents in the file include British Parliamentary Questions about Polish and Czechoslovak attendance at a summit, and about the possible referral to the International Court of Justice of the Soviet decision to transfer its responsibilities in Eastern Germany to the East German government. Other documents in the file include draft replies to a Soviet diplomatic note -- and West German plans for the staged reunification of Germany and for a plebiscite on reunification. Further documents include an update on the progress of the Western working group preparing for East-West negotiations -- and a summary of a North Atlantic Council meeting discussing Germany.
