Summary note
Copy of a translation into Aljamiado (Spanish written in Arabic letters) of the Risālah, a treatise on Maliki law, of Ibn Abī Zayd al-Qayrawānī.
Notes
Decoration: Illuminated headpiece and marginal medallion (f. 4v); marginal manicules throughout; zoomorphic and anthropomorphic drawings in the margins along with some abstract drawings used to fill lines or to decorate margins throughout; rubrications in red and heavier brown.
Foliation: Foliation in red ink (4-79; 90-111) with added foliation in black ink (112-203), upper left verso.
Layout: 18 long lines; ruled with a misṭarah.
Manuscript codex.
Origin: Item is undated; likely produced in the late 16th century, based on the paper.
Script: Written in an andalusi in brown ink; pointed, partially vocalized.
Shelfmark: MS Or 515.
Title from introduction (f. 4v).
Watermark: sphere, similar to Briquet 14039, localized to Saumur 1589.
