Incomplete copy of the Gospels, beginning in chapter 44 of Mark and ending in the second chapter of Luke, and notated with divisions for reading on specific days; followed by leaves of a question and answer book about Arabic grammar copied in a different hand. The leaves for this second work have been remargined and inset into larger frames so that the two works could be bound together.

  • Binding: Rebound in Western style green leather with gold tooled design; horizontal bands on the spine which is stamped "Hindoo Mss."
  • Decoration: Rubrications in red; second text border-ruled in double red.
  • Foliation: Modern foliation added, top left recto; catchwords every verso, lower left.
  • Layout: Written in 19 long lines; second text written in 12-15 lines; border-ruled.
  • Ms. codex.
  • Origin: Neither work is dated; possibly 17th or 18th century.
  • Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed. Second work written in naskh with elements of nastaʻlīq in black ink; pointed.
