Complete copy of the Qurʼān, written in several different hands (f. [0]-8; f. 9-17; f. 18-30) on several different types of paper; many leaves repaired; the first 30 leaves are later replacements.
Notes
  • Binding: Bound in brown leather over thick pasteboard with flap (Type II); embossed paper onlays of a central mandorla, two pendants on the vertical axis, cornerpieces, and triangles between each set of cornerpieces; blind-tooled frame; blue and white chevron pattern endbands.
  • Decoration: Textblock ruled in double red and blue with page-opening frame-ruled in single blue; rubrications in red; sūrah headings in red; marginal text division markers and rukūʻ markers in red.
  • Foliation: Modern foliation added in pencil, upper center recto (1a-252, 252[a]-476); catchwords every verso lower left.
  • Layout: Written in 11 long lines.
  • Origin: The item is undated and unsigned, possibly completed in the second half of the 18th or 19th century.
  • Script: Written in naskh in black ink; pointed and vocalized.
  • Title supplied by cataloger.
