    • Dated from an advertisement in the Publisher vol. 14: 67 (August 14, 1897).
    • Table of contents of the entire series, "Oliver and Boyd's object-lesson cards on the vegentable, animal, and mineral kingdoms," pasted underneath the wooden box lid.
    • Cards are grommeted with strings so that they may be hung.
    • Specimens of plants and animals as well as materials/objects made from them are fasten on the cards.
    • Princeton copy 1: The "vegetable kingdom" series is housed in publisher's wooden box (58 x 38 x 11 cm); the "animal kingdom" series is outside the publisher's box but insided the archival box.
    • Princeton copy 1: Cards with specimens measure 34 cm in width; height varies. The bottom half of cards, originally carrying explanatory text, has been cut off.
