Summary note
Altarum's Consumer Healthcare Experience State Survey (CHESS) and Medical Debt Survey are designed to elicit respondents' unbiased views on a wide range of health system issues, including confidence in using the health system, financial burden, medical debt, and views on fixes that might be needed. The surveys use a web panel from Dynata with a demographically balanced sample of approximately 1,500 respondents who live in a targeted state. The surveys were conducted in English or Spanish and restricted to adults ages 18 and older. Respondents who finished the surveys in less than half the median time were excluded from the final sample. Cf: http://doi.org/10.3886/ICPSR38596.v1
