Here, later interpolations were added starting from an earlier authorial draft, providing modern readers with valuable information about Cassiodorus' progressive revisions and updates. Subsequent additions are also evidence of the early fortune of the 'Institutiones', showing which texts were actively read and studied from the 6th to the 9th centuries. Following Roger Mynors' and Pierre Courcelle's fundamental intuitions, Ilaria Morresi provides the first complete critical edition of the Phi Delta corpora, based on the systematic study of the manuscript tradition. Much attention is paid to the many diagrams included both within the 'Institutiones saeculares' and the interpolations, which are clues to the great importance of images for Early Mediaeval teaching on Trivium and Quadrivium."-- |cProvided by publisher 505 00 |tIntroduzione : -- |tTesto e redazioni -- |tTradizione manoscritta e stemmata codicum -- |tNota al testo -- |tBibliografia -- |tInstitutiones humanarum litterarum -- |tAdditamenta quae in textu II inveniuntur-- |tAppendix -- |tAdditamenta quae in textu III inveniuntur -- |tAppendix Omega : -- |tSaecularium litterarum liber II : Praefatio, 1-3 -- |tDe dialectica, 15-16 -- |tConclusio, 1-9 -- |tSchemata quae in Humanarum litterarum institutionibus inveniuntur : -- |tDe grammatica -- |tDe rethorica -- |tDe dialectica -- |tDe mathematica -- |tDe Arithmetica -- |tDe musica -- |tDe geometrica -- |tDe astronomia -- |tIndices : -- |tIndex locorum Sacrae Scripturae -- |tIndex fontium et locorum similium -- |tIndex codicum -- |tIndex analyticus -- |tIndex vocum Graecarum -- |tIndex nominum. 650 0 Classification of sciences |vEarly works to 1800. 600 00 Cassiodorus, |cSenator, |dapproximately 487-approximately 580 |xManuscripts. 600 00 Cassiodorus, |cSenator, |dapproximately 487-approximately 580. |tInstitutiones. |nLiber 2 650 0 Transmission of texts |zEurope |xHistory |yTo 1500. 630 07 Institutiones (Cassiodorus, Senator) |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01358240 600 07 Cassiodorus, |cSenator, |dapproximately 487-approximately 580 |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01811705 650 7 Classification of sciences. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00863687 650 7 Education. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00902499 650 7 Education, Higher. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst00903005 650 7 Philosophy. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01060777 650 7 Theology. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01149559 651 7 Italy. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01204565 655 7 Early works. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01411636 655 7 History. |2fast |0(OCoLC)fst01411628 655 7 Handbooks and manuals. |2lcgft 655 7 Encyclopedias. |2lcgft 700 1 Morresi, Ilaria, |d1990- |eeditor. 800 0 Cassiodorus, |cSenator, |dapproximately 487-approximately 580. |tWorks. |lLatin |s(Corpus Christianorum.
