Summary note
Pp. 25-227 contain memoirs (including a diary on pp. 93-130) of Aharonson, an Orthodox Jew who was born in Warsaw, lived in Konin, and served as a rabbi in Sanniki. Describes the German occupation of Sanniki in September 1939, his flights to Łódź and Warsaw and the sufferings of the Jews in these cities, and his return to Sanniki and deportation in March 1942 to the Konin labor camp. Relates the events of a short-lived revolt by Jews in the camp; they burned down some of the buildings, after which the camp was closed and Aharonson was sent to Auschwitz for forced labor. Stresses religious aspects of life in the camps. The memoirs end in October 1944. Aharonson immigrated to Israel in 1951. Pp. 228-253 contain halakhic responsa pertaining to the difficulties of life during the Holocaust. Pp. 254-319 contain Aharonson's theological approach to the Holocaust.
