Description: Diary account written by McNeish (alternatively McNish) of the 1914-1916 Trans-Antarctic expedition under the command of Ernest Shackleton. The diary records the departure of the `Endurance', the ship's imprisonment in pack ice in the Weddell Sea, its destruction, the journey to Elephant Island, and the voyage of Shackleton, McNeish and three others to South Georgia in the `James Caird'.
