Broadside advertising the one-night, benefit engagement of Shakespeare’s ‘Othello’ at the Boston Theatre in Boston, Massachusetts, on Monday evening, November 2nd, 1868. The play starred Edwin Booth as Othello, Junius Brutus Booth, Jr. as Iago, and Mrs. J. B. Booth as Desdemona, with Louis Aldrich, W. M. Leman, James Lewis, J. F. Hagan, A. Leonard, Shirley France, F. St. Harold, J. Taylor, J. D. Russell, J. Scott and Mrs. L. Morse. Other performances on this night include the farce ‘Robert Macaire’ starring C. R. Thorpe, Jr. in the title role and featuring James Lewis, D. R. Allen, J. Scott, A. Leonard, J. D. Russell, J. Taylor, Stuart Clarke, Miss S. Flood and Mrs. J. H. Browne. The program also notes that on the following night, Edwin Booth would appear as ‘Macbeth’ with Fanny Janauschek as ‘Lady Macbeth’.
