A hand made race game featuring a long track in the form of a snake comprised of 119 squares, of which 25 are illustrated with tiny vignettes and bear special instructions. Includes vignettes such as an American flag, cannon, cow, globe, prison, Great Seal of the United States, steam frigate, and garrote.
Place of production based on provenance, date based on provenance and imagery. Dealer indicates that previous owners lived in the Virginia and Washington D.C. area. Since vignettes include an American flag, Great Seal, and a steam ship, the dealer speculates that the game was created in Virginia before the American Civil War.
