Series IV, Current issues in linguistic theory, |x0304-0763 ; |vv. 256 520 The Going Romance conferences are a major European annual discussion forum for theoretically relevant research on Romance languages. Selected papers are published in the Romance Languages and Linguistic Theory volumes. This is the fourth such volume, containing a selection of the papers that have been presented at the 2002 conference, which was held at the State University of Groningen. The three-day program included a workshop on Acquisition. The articles in this volume focalize on specifics of one or more Romance languages or varieties: clausal structure, verb-movement, topic, focus and reinforcement constructions, nominal ellipsis, (absence of) pronouns in child language, and other current issues in Romance linguistics. 505 0 ROMANCE LANGUAGES AND LINGUISTIC THEORY 2002 -- Editorial page -- Title page -- LCC page -- INTRODUCTION -- CONTENTS -- TENSE, QUANTIFICATION AND CLAUSE STRUCTURE IN EP AND BP -- References -- EARLY 'PRAGMATIC' COMPETENCE AND ITS IMPLICATIONS REGARDING THE NULL SUBJECT PHENOMENON -- References -- ON THE IMPACT OF FRENCH SUBJECT CLITICS ON THE INFORMATION STRUCTURE OF THE SENTENCE -- References -- A RESTRICTED VIEW OF HEAD MOVEMENT -- References -- THE EFFECTS OF PHONOLOGICAL CUES ON THE SYNTAX OF FOCUS CONSTRUCTIONS IN SPANISH -- References -- OPTIONAL INFINITIVES OR SILENT AUXES? -- References -- DISLOCATION, CLITIC RESUMPTION AND MINIMALITY -- References -- FOCUS ON NEGATIVE CONCORD -- References -- ROMANCE AND 'SOMETHING ELSE' -- References -- LEARNABILITY ORDER IN THE FRENCH PRONOMINAL SYSTEM -- References -- NOMINAL ELLIPSIS AND MORPHOLOGICAL STRUCTURE IN SPANISH -- References -- THE DEVELOPMENT OF INALIENABLE POSSESSION IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH -- References -- SEGMENTAL AND FEATURAL STRATEGIES TO AVOID ADJACENT SIBILANT SEGMENTS IN BALEARIC CATALAN -- References -- -TU IN QUEBEC FRENCH AS A (SUPER)POSITIVE MARKER -- References -- FEATURE CHECKING AND OBJECT CLITIC OMISSION IN CHILD CATALAN AND SPANISH -- References -- INDEX OF LANGUAGES AND DIALECTS -- SUBJECT INDEX -- CURRENT ISSUES IN LINGUISTIC THEORY. 504 Includes bibliographical references and indexes. 650 0 Romance languages |vCongresses. 650 0 Linguistics |vCongresses. 776 0 |z1-58811-585-2 776 0 |z90-272-4770-6 700 1 Bok-Bennema, Reineke, |d1946- 830 0 Amsterdam studies in the theory and history of linguistic science. |nSeries IV, |pCurrent issues in linguistic theory ; |vv. 256. 906 BOOK
