Summary note
Burr denies having any of the money owed to McLachlan's son, Philip Garniss. Says Mr. Gardiner has [Dollar sign]2,600 for her son and that he is trying to help secure for the boy. Says if she tries to take it, the money will be returned to Mr. Gardiner, and assures her the money will be safe. I take the liberty Madam, to advise you not to speak in improper or offensive terms of Mr. Plant or any of your neighbours - remember you once lost an estate by the unguarded use of your tongue.
