Writes regarding a disagreement between them over his expenses for a trip to Hartford, Connecticut. Burr states he and Hamilton are in agreement over what they believed would be the expense payment structure for the trip.

Jay was Governor of New York 1795-1801. Jay had asked Burr and Alexander Hamilton to represent New York's interests in the controversy regarding Connecticut's claims to an eight-mile wide gore along the New York-Pennsylvania border, earlier known as the Susquehanna Claim.
