Suite of seven large intaglio drypoint prints mapping the real and imaginary city of Dublin depicted on June 16, 1904, in James Joyce's Ulysses. Covers the area from Phoenix Park in the west to Howth in the north east and from Glasnevin in the north to Bray in the south east.

  • As part of a centenary celebration of Bloomsday, the Office of Public Works commissioned "In Medias Res" for the exhibition "James Joyce and Ulysses at the National Library of Ireland, Dublin," June 16, 2004 to May 10, 2006. The suite of seven intaglio drypoint zinc plates was executed in 2004 and printed in one copy that year. The plates were subsequently printed in 2006 in a limited edition of ten sets.
  • "Each drypoint was hand-printed on an etching press from zinc plates on 350GSM, natural, Hahnemuhle etching paper, with occasional additions of chine collé and watercolour hand-applied by the artist."--Broadside.
  • Each map is numbered at bottom edge, with the title of the map and signature of the artist in pencil, and, at the far right edge, embossed with a circular stamp of "Tabula Press Ireland."
