Summary note

The research contained in this book is based on a series of features written by friar Bernardino de Sahagun in two works made about 500 years ago in what is now Mexico City: Los Primeros Memoriales and the Codice Florentino, with the objective of providing knowledge to reconstruct a vision of the decorative attributes and architecture that took place in central Mexico in the late 15th century and during the 16th century. Both texts are testimonies of the way the events of New Spain were documented and, for the time being, present editorial qualities that served as a reference for the design of this publication. "The book has a binding based on the principle of the screen (biombo), where the fold of the first sheet is done in one direction and the next in the opposite direction.(HKB Translation)--Page 12.
