  • The Vulgate and Zürich versions in parallel columns: a revised edition of R. Stephanus' Bible of 1545. "Stephanus' Bible ... had ben placed on the 'Index expurgatorius' ... The task of revision was committed to Francisco Sancho and the members of the Theological Faculty at Salamanca; and at length the work was published in 1586 ... by command of the Inquisition, in ignorance, apparently, of the true origin of the modern translation included ...   • In each volume the title-page is dated 1584. "Index Biblicus" has separate title page dated 1585. Some official approvals, etc., in volume 1 and 2nd leaf 138 in volume 2 are dated 1586. Colophon at end of volume 2: Salmanticae, ex officina Ildefonsi à Terranoua & Neyla. MDLXXXV.
