    A text on versification, a commentary on al-Alfīyah by Ibn Mālik, and a commentary on the ode on the law of inheritance called al-Raḥbīyah.

    • Marginal notes and glosses. On fol. 1a occurs another title, Kitāb fī naẓm al-qawāʻid... . Folios 1, 2, 7 and 8 are by one hand and folios 3-6 by another. Several ownership statements and seal impressions, some obscured.
    • Collation: Paper ; fol. 93 + (1) ; catchwords ; partial foliation in ink using Hindu-Arabic numerals ; modern foliation in pencil using Western numerals.
    • Layout: 17-27 lines per page.
    • Description: Rubricated ; text in red and commentary in black ; MS in fair condition but worm-eaten and mended; folio 2 partly defective.

    Later type II (with flap) binding in red leather. Blind-stamped mandorla with pendants and blind-tooled decorative edging. Similar decoration on flap. Inner flap lined with patterned fabric. Yellow paper pastedowns with block-pressed design. Endbands.
