Notes
Title in translation: Zacchaeus of the sycamore tree : Tales from the Bible.
This kamishibai contains Imai Yone's retelling of Luke 19: 1-10. She provides a synoposis on the back of the first card, quoted from a "new translation" of the Bible. Zacchaeus was a sinful money-lender, who heard about Jesus and wanted to see him so badly that he climbed a sycamore tree to catch a glimpse of him above the crowds. Jesus calls Zacchaeus down from the tree and accompanies him to his house, where Zacchaeus repents and is forgiven.
On the back of last card is a description of and advertisement for Imai Yone's book, "The Reality of Kamishibai" (Kamishibai no jissai).
