This anonymous prose life of St. Catherine of Alexandria was compiled from various sources in the second half of the 14th century and was included in the late medieval collection Der heiligen Leben.
Script: Cursiva libraria by one scribe, whose orthography may suggest Bavarian origins.
Decoration: None.
Binding note
United States, 21st century. Rebound in the Preservation Office, Princeton University Library, by Jody Beenk, 2008. Princeton Ms. 203 was once part of a larger manuscript but was disbound when acquired, without boards or any traces of sewing.

Ez waz ein reicher edeler kunig in Ciperlant in einer inseln in einer stat heizzet Salomina der kunig hiez Costis der het ein tochter die hiez Katherina und die waz zu mol schon edel weise keusch und tu gentlich ...” Explicit: “... und dienet furbaz got und maria unde der liebe katherinen und verdienet furbaz daz ewig leben do zu helff uns got. Amen.”
Provenance
Princeton MS. 203 is of unknown early and intermediate provenance. The Princeton University Library purchased the manuscript at a Sotheby's London sale on 4 December 2007.
