Title from printed catalog.
Script: Cursiva libraria, in many hands.
Decoration: None. There are guide letters and spaces on fol. 35r-v for four unexecuted initials.
Binding note
Germany, late 15th century. Beveled boards (8 mm thick), probably oak, covered in parchment with the hair side facing out and decorated front and back by four concentric frames with a cross saltire at the center.
Provenance
Princeton Ms. 175 is a composite volume of sermons and other texts written by various members of the Franciscan order in paper booklets during the period 1350-1475. Intermediate provenance is unknown. The Princeton University Library purchased from the London antiquarian bookseller Sam Fogg Rare Books in 2001 (Acc. no. 2002-95).
