Summary note
The book comprises six projects, critical texts and one furniture design, highlighting the best of the 50-year professional career of architect and designer Juan Ignacio Baixas (Chile 1942) and architect Enrique Del Rio Ojeda (Chile 1941). The work of Baixas and Del Rio, excels in Latin American architecture. Example of the best of contemporary Chilean architecture, their constructive technological modernity is in tension with the telluric forces. Their buildings are built with industrial materials such as glass, steel, aluminum, but also wood, stone and concrete. The edition includes the "Puzzle Chair" (1975), which "could be a tribute to designer Jean Prouve with whom the architect Juan Ignacio Baixas studied postgraduate studies, given the ingenious development of this detachable chair that does not use anchors or glued, but which adjusts with the tension provided by the weight of the user. Its built in solid and pressed wood. (HKB Translation) --Page 9. The chair designed by Juan Ignacio Baixas is part of the permanent collection of MoMA.
