Summary note
Graphic artist and author, Massimo Presciutti, who has lived in Florence since the 1970s, was born near Gubbio and is likely a descendant of the relatively obscure artist Giuliano Prescuitti, active in Umbria and Le Marche in the 15th and 16th centuries. An homage of sorts to Giuliano, the book is based on the author's travels through Umbria and Le Marche as an adult. There, he not only records memories of his childhood but also demonstrates his knowledge Giuliano's art, and most important, reveals how art has affected his vision of the world. The book is amply illustrated with sketches of Giuliano's works and humorous drawings inspired by the paintings of Giuliano's more famous contemporaries, such as Michelangelo and Raphael.
