Early and intermediate provenance is unknown. Before Grenville Kane (1854-1943), of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., acquired the manuscript in 1928, it had been broken into three sections and sold separately. The London and New York antiquarian bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich (1865-1930) acquired fols. 9-30. The New York antiquarian bookseller Lathrop C. Harper acquired fols. 31-50, which were later offered by the firm of Jacques Rosenthal, Munich, in its catalogue Bibliotheca medii aevi manuscripta. Grenville Kane acquired these two sections in 1928 and had them bound together at the New York Public Library in 1929. The Kane Collection was acquired by the Princeton University Library from Kane's heirs in February 1946. 510 4 Medieval & Renaissance manuscripts in the Princeton University Library, |cvolume 2, pages 116-117. 650 0 Astronomy |vTables |vEarly works to 1800. 650 0 Manuscripts, Latin (Medieval and modern) |zFrance. 650 0 Manuscripts, Latin (Medieval and modern) |zNew Jersey |zPrinceton. 650 0 Illumination of books and manuscripts. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85064332 700 0 Nicolaus de Heybech, |cof Erfurt, |dactive 1380-1400, |escribe. 700 1 Kane, Grenville, |d1854-1943, |eformer owner. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2001073978 700 1 Voynich, Wilfred Michael, |d1865-1930, |ebookseller. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n88244649 700 1 Harper, Lathrop C. |q(Lathrop Colgate), |d1867-1950, |ebookseller. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2019069428 710 2 Princeton University. |bLibrary. |kManuscript. |nKane MS. 51. 902 yw |bo |6t |7m |dv |f1 |e20190607 950 |c2023-08-09 16:00:05 US/Eastern |b2021-07-13 04:36:19 US/Easternfalse
