The writing was completed on 30 October 1471, according to the colophon on fol. 56r. The earliest attested owner was “Franciscus Mutius” [Muzi], possibly identifiable with a canon lawyer in Bergamo. Intermediate provenance is unknown. In 1929 the London and New York antiquarian bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich (1865-1930) sold the manuscript to Grenville Kane (1854-1943), of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., whose bookplate is on the inside front cover. Princeton University Library acquired the manuscript from Kane's heirs in February 1946. 510 4 Medieval & Renaissance manuscripts in the Princeton University Library, |cvolume 2, page 55-56. 630 00 Epistles of Phalaris |vTranslations into Latin. 650 0 Manuscripts, Latin (Medieval and modern) |zItaly |zFlorence. 650 0 Manuscripts, Latin (Medieval and modern) |zNew Jersey |zPrinceton. 650 0 Illumination of books and manuscripts. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/subjects/sh85064332 700 0 Pseudo-Phalaris, |eattributed author. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n84121461 700 1 Kane, Grenville, |d1854-1943, |eformer owner. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/no2001073978 700 1 Voynich, Wilfred Michael, |d1865-1930, |ebookseller. |0http://id.loc.gov/authorities/names/n88244649 710 2 Princeton University. |bLibrary. |kManuscript. |nKane MS. 24. 902 yw |bo |6t |7m |dv |f1 |e20190517 950 |c2023-08-09 10:13:21 US/Eastern |b2021-07-13 03:58:22 US/Easternfalse
