This leaf also has a full border of interlaced green leaves, with blue and rose-colored flowers and leaves, the two bottom green foliate swirls containing a rabbit in the center of each, gold ground outlined black; below, two putti dressed in blue and rose, with green wings, support what appear to be erased arms.

England, 19th century. Light brown calf over pasteboard, blind-stamped and ruled on the upper and lower covers and along the fore-edges and turn downs.
Provenance
Kane MS. 22 was produced around 1460 in northwestern Italy, probably Genoa. The manuscript's intermediate provenance is unknown. It was in the library of the Venetian Jesuit [Abate] Matteo Luigi Canonici (1727-1805).The present manuscript was sold on 10 June 1920 as part of the Greene sale at Sotheby's London. The London and New York antiquarian bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich (1865-1930) later acquired the manuscript, and in 1929 it was sold to Grenville Kane (1854-1943), of Tuxedo Park, N.Y. His bookplate is on the inside front cover, and his pencil note is on the flyleaf. Princeton University Library acquired the manuscript from Kane's heirs in February 1946.
