Provenance
Kane MS. 20 is of unknown early provenance. According to Seymour de Ricci, this initial leaf was removed “from an imperfect ms. owned ca. 1931 by E. Weyhe of New York”; i.e., Erhard Weyhe (1882-1972), of Erhard Weyhe Gallery, New York. Grenville Kane (1854-1943), of Tuxedo Park, N.Y., acquired the leaf at an unknown date. An unidentified identification number is on the verso in pencil “99647” or “99642.” The Kane Collection was acquired by the Princeton University Library from Kane's heirs in February 1946.
