Script: Hybrida libraria.
Decoration: The manuscript was apparently designed for a full illustration cycle, but only three miniatures were executed. These were added no earlier than the second half of the 16th century.
Binding note
Germany, 15th century. Contemporary binding of blind-stamped calf over wooden boards (8 mm thick),
Provenance
Garrett MS. 134 was completed by Jörg Cluber of Lauingen on 25 June 1468 (see Script). The manuscript was presented to Ulrich Wieller, chaplain of Dürrlauingen, Bavaria. Robert Garrett (1875-1961), of Baltimore,Maryland, Class of 1897, purchased the manuscript from the Berlin antiquarian bookseller Martin Breslauer (1871-1940) on 22 September 1905. Garrett's pencil initials and printed bookplate are on the inside front cover. Garrett deposited it in the Princeton University Library (deposit no. 1461). His gift to the Princeton University Library, 1942.
