  • Decoration: None; space left for unexecuted two-line initials at major divisions of the text. Some with guide letters.
Binding note
England, late 19th or early 20th century. Bound by the Guild of Women Binders (their stamp on inside front cover), active in London from 1898 to 1904.
Provenance
Garrett MS. 69 was completed on 10 April 1455. The scribe may have been Martino Rizzoni. Early and intermediate provenance is unknown. Robert Garrett (1875-1961), of Baltimore, Maryland, Class of 1897, purchased the manuscript on 25 April 1925 from the New York antiquarian bookseller Wilfrid M. Voynich (1865-1930). Dealers' notes in pencil (“0 6032” and “h 10564”) are on the front and back pastedowns, respectively. Garrett's gift to the Princeton University Library, 1942.
