    The Office of the Information Commissioner (OIC) is an independent public body which was established in 1983 under the Access to Information Act. The Office is primarily responsible for carrying out efficient, fair and confidential investigations of complaints and issues of concern on how federal institutions handle access to information requests from the public. In addition, the Office supports the Information Commissioner's advisory role to Parliament and parliamentary committees on all access to information matters. This report provides summary information about the Office, an analysis of program activities by strategic outcome, and supplementary financial information.--Includes text from document.
