Summary note
Monograph dedicated to the French painter Eugène Delacroix (1798-1863), leader of Romanticism in France with Géricault which he took over at his untimely death. Built in a series of thematic essays, this biographical monograph traces the life and work of the painter to the meteoric rise after the Salon of 1824. The text is abundantly illustrated with reproductions of paintings, drawings and details of the works.--Babelio
